Kudhva
Into the wilderness for the week, after being awarded an Artist in Residence (A.I.R) for research on live and work spaces for optimum creativity.
I experienced slow elevated living in a sustainable off-grid larch treehouse, set within a raw expanse of willow forest. The grounds housed a tin mine, natural waterfall, slate quarry, an endless supply of natural quartz with a danish hand-built cabin in the woods. This very special sacred place is called Kudhva, Cornish for 'hideout'. Trebarwith coast is nearby where we watched the sunset behind gulls rock, this is the location that had me head over heels for Cornwall back in 2012, my trip here influenced my move to a remote cornish coastal countryside.
This is the ultimate rewilding experience, sitting on the north Atlantic coast in Cornwall, check it out and book your experience here: http://kudhva.com

During my off-grid A.I.R experience, I explored and developed a reworked and renewed worn wear collection for production called Motherland. This collection was aimed at material futures, preventing landfill waste by taking waste apparel and giving it a new life, while finding solutions for a sustainable supply chain to close the loop using the cradle to cradle process.
This opportunity gave me the space to disconnect and focus with no distractions. I experienced heightened senses and a blanket of calm I was able to question and rigorously research and concentrate on process.
Through this creative process, I changed my design direction and developed a current design sample ready for production, a product which uses luxury waste with transformable innovation. Bringing to life an experimental fashion studio namely, 'Anthropocene Studios', which is materialized through mediums of social commentary, immersive art + disruptive garments.
I discovered how creativity and a collective vision can create positive change through collaboration, networking, sharing knowledge and connecting with like-minded creatives at Kudhva A.I.R over the campfire, music, vegan food, hot drinks, and clear starry skies. Kudhva, is an escape to live minimally and be wild, it cultivates your imagination and embraces the need to be free.
